Online Pedigree Database Information
Information that is submitted to the Online Pedigree Database is not considered personal information as defined by this Privacy Policy. The facts that make up pedigree information are easily available from multiple sources (both online and in print) and are considered information that is in the public domain. By registering, breeding, showing, or competing, you are making the facts (name, date of birth, etc.) about your dog easily available to the public. As facts rather than original works or creations, they are not protected by copyright or trademark law.

Your username is not considered private or personal information as defined by this Privacy Policy. If you choose to display your username as the contributor of a record, your username is available to the public as it pertains to those records.

Communication with PawVillage regarding information in the Online Pedigree Database is not private or privileged information. We may share information from such communication with other members in discussing the information in the Online Pedigree Database in general, or regarding specific database records.

PawVillage is not responsible or liable for the actions of, or for any communication with or by any of our members who on a voluntary basis assist PawVillage with maintenance and management of the information in the Online Pedigree Database.

Sharing Information
Information about our members and customers is an important part of our business, and we are not in the business of selling it to others. We share customer information only as described below.

• Affiliated Businesses: At times we may work closely with other businesses that we own or are affiliated with. We reserve the option to send offers to PawVillage members and/or customers on behalf of any company owned or closely affiliated with us.
• Agents: If we employ or utilize another company or individual to perform functions on our behalf, such as fulfilling orders, delivering packages, sending postal mail and e-mail, removing repetitive information from customer lists, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, processing credit card payments, and providing customer service. They have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes.
• Promotional Offers: We may send offers to selected groups of PawVillage members and/or customers on behalf of other businesses. When we do this, we do not give that business your name and address.

Security

• When you are shopping at PawVillage.com, you are protected by a secure server, which encrypts all of your personal information including name, address, and credit card number. Encryption ensures that no one can see your information while it is transmitted to our server. The encryption we use is Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software and we are authenticated by Thawte Consulting-please click the logo above to verify our security.
• We securely transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during processing, but we only store the last five digits of your credit card number on our server. We also only reveal only the last five digits of your credit card numbers when confirming an order.

Children

At PawVillage, we take the protection of children's privacy very seriously. PawVillage does not encourage participation or visitation by children without the involvement of a parent or guardian. Visitors who are known to be under the age of 13 are prohibited from becoming a member. No one under the age of 18 may become a breed manager or volunteer at PawVillage.com.
