Mabel de la Brigade was registered as a Malinois. According to Mme Aubry, Mabel had a slightly long-coat. BBA pxxii-xxiii

Had longish (half long) hair. Such a dog was not and is not classified as Tervuren. Most Malinois kennels would not have used this bitch because of her hair length, but at this time the Brigade kennel was most concerned with the functional qualities of character in terms of field and tracking tests. It was not concerned with hair length.
