Sam epitomised the Tervueren, with a beautiful head and expression, fabulous body shape, and above all, a superb temperament. He died, aged 11, from throat cancer - a great loss. Complete BSD p153
To mention just 3 BSDs that I have had high regard for is very difficult as there have been so many. As a show dog I must mention Ch Vallivue Bon Chance who, as everyone knows, has exceeded all that any other Belgian has achieved. I would like to mention stud dogs that have made their mark both in the showring and as producers. My first choice would be Fr Ch Sam de la Douce Plaine. A wonderful show dog, a fabulous producer, and most important, a superb temperament. His name appears in the pedigrees of so many Champions worldwide. Ch Bandol de la Pouroffe at Snowbourn was a great show dog, with a record unequalled as a producer in this country. My joint third choice would have to be my own Ch Norrevang Bacchus. A great ambassador for the grey colour, the sweetest of temperaments, a producer of several top winners, but hates the show ring and his son Ch Bergerac Loves Kills a beautiful show dog with 5 Champion daughters.
