Recorded as a red brindle with cream markings in the AKC Stud Book
Exported by Hon. Florence Amherst (Amherstia) to Mrs. C.B. Hills. Derived partly from stock bred for Sherif Shakir, a member of the royal family of Mecca by the Rualla tribe of Bedouins. Later became one of the foundation bitches for Edward Aldrich (Diamond Hill Kennel). Nazi was Mr. Aldrich's first saluki.
Although Salukis are considered sighthounds, they still have scenting ability. Nazi was taken out one evening with a beagle and located a rabbit when the beagle repeatedly lost the trail. A rather interesting characteristc which has been noted is the habit of a Saluki to get up on a high place, like the roof of a kennel, so as to survey its surroundings.
