Referred to as "the Mother of American Salukis" by Sue Ann Pietros, The Classic Saluki. Halmah produced 6 litters, 3 by Hadji. Mr. Aldrich lost all but Shalwa Ab-Roa to distemper in his first litter and named Halma after Halma Ab-Roa. Halmah was referred to by a Judge, Melvin R. Rosebaum of San Francisco, CA, as "his standard for bitches." The area Halmah lived in was subjected to a long drawn out torrid spell in which Halwah succumed to a heart attack.
