Having already bred and raised some Groenendael, who were always present in the kennel, Clos St Jacques acquired its first couple of fawns in 1948. Until 1957, in spite of encouraging local success, its products never managed to assert themselves in the first places of the strong Paris competition. From this time forward, however, and primarily thanks to the offspring of its great stud Faune du Clos St Jacques, who greatly imporved the type and homogeneity of the kennel, Clos St Jacques acquired, and for some years maintained, an almost total supremacy. It dominated the champoinship shows and the breed specials primarily between 1960 and 1965. BBA p97
Faune du Clos St Jacques, kept by the kennel, CACIB at many provincial specialties, a typical dog with a very lovely head admirably coiffed, very difficult to keep in good coat and condition during his first years of showing, who proved himself to be and extraoardinary stud, not only with the fawns, but also with some Groenendael bitches. The January 1954 BSCA Newsletter states, "Yedo de l'Infernal had an oddity of metabolism, he never carried enough flesh to be shown effectively..." Yedo's cousin, Cybelle des Ardennes du Coitron, another Tan offspring, wasn't able to carry a normal coat until later in life. On the fawn side of the family, Eros de Cledeville and Faune du Clos St Jacques, both grandchildren of Willy de la Garde Noire-who shares Yedo's and Cybelle's Groenendael ancestry-were both difficult to keep in coat and condition.
