He was of medium height, very typey, but possessing, in my opinion, less distinction and class than Kiss Kisch. As a stud for the Cavalerie Kennel, which battled with the Courtaux Kennel for supremacy in the Groenendael variety, he saw one of his sons, Bayard de la Cavalerie, succeed him one time as a winner of the CAC.
