Group winner

Hot Rod is a combination of the best type his father had to offer from Belgium and the soundness of his mother. Both were admired by the person who gave Hot Rod his ultimate glory. Always a people-oriented dog with an inherited zest for life that was to carry hi to his finest hour in his veteran years. Hot Rod spent his formative years at Corsair. After Beau retired, Hot Rod was shown occasionally and became a Group winner. Having a number of dogs and no desire to campaign a dog, Hot Rod moved to Michigan to live with Yolanda Traugott. Over the following years, Hot Rod enjoyed his life of luxury, the girls, an occasional show, and National Specialty Selects. In 1991, he was the final consideration for BOB, his daughter was Best In Puppy Sweepstakes, his father, at age 12, was Best In Veteran Sweepstakes, and his mother was Select, at age 14, along with Hot Rod, and three of his other Corsair Kin. In 1994, Hot Rod's embodiment of the Tervuren was rewarded at the age of 10 1/2 being awarded BOB at the National Specialty by Skip Stanbridge who stated "...won on type, quality, movement and attitude, but also on character and desire to win." That evening I received the BAR Awards for Hot Rod's sister, Helen, and the BAR Award for Beau. Hot Rod was CERF Clear at age 11 years. What else could one ask for.
