One of a handful of group placing grey Tervs in the US.

An English import, Midas' excellent qualities -
short back, excellent angulation, good bone, long head, and deep chest - should tremendously benefit the breed in America!

Back to late in 1991, the British litters I had been waiting for were born - both sired by Ch Ferry de la Douce Plaine at Belamba. The first was from Phil and Barbara Huntley-Gate's lovely Whyalla's Golden Sunset at Limburg. The second was from Marcelle King's Belamba Jeuness Doree (Zara). Determined to fulfill our need for males to breed our bitches to, I booked males from each litter. As fate would have it, Zara whelped a litter of seven bitches. The timing was excellent, however, as the pups were ready to travel to the US the week of the Crufts show in January 1992. The puppies I brought home were Belamba Lynet, who I owned in partnership until 1995 when she returned to Bonheur and quickly became the best friend of my then three year old daughter, and AKC Ch Moorslede Golden Touch NA.
'Midas' was always slated to be my sister's puppy. The only request she made was that I bring her back a red male. I had all the males to choose from, but couldn't resist this grey chap. And I think she's glad now that I picked him! Midas' color was against him in this country, but he still became a champion with relatively little fuss, even earning a group placement along the way - Carrole's first.
Midas' real value to us has been his contribution as a stud dog. He sired his first litter at only a year of age. We don't usually do this, but the bitch we wanted to breed him to, Djinn's sister AKC Ch Bonheur Wish Come True, was still a maiden at five years of age - and he was perfect for her! Our assessment was correct, the combination was outstanding. Most notably are AKC Ch Bonheur Absolute Conspiracy (Cinder) and AKC/CKC Ch Bonhuer Crime Spree CD HS (Moxie). Cinder was the winner of the 1994 ABTC National Specialty Puppy Sweepstakes and later, was Winners Bitch at a Regional Specialty. She has had only one litter for Sandy Liebman's Absolute kennel, where she is the foundation bitch.
Moxie (the second of this name) is the foundation bitch for Betsy Keating's Arlequin kennel. Grey like her sire, she became a Canadian champion with ease and an American one with a little effort. Along the way she placed at two ABTC Nationals, under breed specialist Skip Stanbridge and Sharon Redmer, and won a large Open class at the Canadian National over American Champion and top ten winning bitches. Moxie is also an outstanding working dog, earning obedience as well as herding titles in both the US and Canada.
(Alleyne Dickens, Bonheur) 1999 YB p59

"Midas" has fulfilled all the dreams we had for him as a show dog and as a companion. More importantly, he is the producer we came to Britain to find. Midas has sired more than a dozen American and Canadian Champions, as well as High-in Trial winners in Obedience and Herding.
Nearly all of Midas' kids have the same excellent construction and outstanding character as their sire. We are very proud of him.
We send our thanks to Phil and Barbara Huntley-Gates, for letting Midas come to America, to Marcelle King, for helping us make it happen, and to the late Kay Maves, for suggesting we look at this litter. Midas' touch is golden in everything he does, especially the way he touches our hearts!
