Born in 1895 in Tahawi. In 1897, Luman was given to Hon. Florence Amherst by Colonel Jennings Bramley and served as the foundation dog for Amherst Kennels. Luman (also spelled as La'aman, Lamaun and Luma) means flash of light. He died of old age and his body was presented to the Natural History Museum in London for display and was later transferred to the Tring Museum in Hertfordhsire.
