All the Malinois in the UK stem from the first pair imported by Jane Lane and Liz Richardson in 1973. Both came from France. The BS by Andrews & Cloutt

Twenty years seems a long time ago - but that's the span of my involvement with the Malinois. Going back to 1971 I was at Crufts with Jane (Lane) and in those days we showed Racing Greyhounds. Wandering around we came across a Vet chart of dogs and saw the Malinois - it looked so like my old x-bred who recently died - from that moment the Malinois moved in.
Dogs have always been a passion, in childhood I was given a Scottish Terrier (called Ginger 1) and later a Pembroke Corgi, so when married and moving to Guildford with small baby it was on the understanding (mine at least) that I would have a dog, and that was Buster the x-bred. Then my first Greyhound arrived followed by four more and a Poodle called Tangy. I had my first litter of Poodles in 1962 and of course to register them I HAD to have a prefix! I sent in various names - all refused - so thinking again - I always preferred sharp, alert, pointed faced dogs, so....SHARP - POINT - SWORD TO SABRE, living amongst fields and trees - added FIELD and there it was - SABREFIELD! After the Poodles came Cavaliers and Whippets until.....1972.
Jane and I decided to plung in and so to the beginning of the Malinois here in Britain. The arrival of Venus de la Grange aux Cerfs into quarantine caused great excitement followed by Vidock du Clos des Ondes. Their first litter was the first magic highlight - 5 dogs and 1 bitch born at Jane's house - a lovely litter. Jane became joint prefix holder as we owned them together and also the next import Yosie van Bouwelhei. Later we decided to revert it back to my own when we had our own bitches and Jane then chose her prefix "Jalaknaka".
