The Malinois Brigade kennel of Mr Van den Eynde, registered its first long-hair-fawn litter in 1947.
Until the 1952-1953 LOSH, Brigade barely registered one long-hair-fawn litter per year. But in the 1952-1953 LOSH Brigade registered 5 long-hair-fawn litters - and then stopped all production! His last litter, the 'B' litter included the American import, Brigadier de la Brigade. BBA pxv

1958 saw the first Belgian-bred specimen arrive in this (US) country. Netherlands Ch Brigadier de la Brigade was purchased by W M Ch Peters and his wife Erna on the show grounds in Brussels. The Peters had had Tervueren before "Bill", but thy had been shot by the Japanese when the Peters were detained in Japanese concentration camps in the Dutch East Indies. They showed Bill to his Netherlands championship, winning high praises from European judges, before moving to the US. The Peters traveled about this country and while they were in the Arizona desert, Bill had a contest with a cholla cactus, damaging one ear. It never stood properly again in spite of surgery. Bill is the Tervueren used to illustrate the breed in the Visualisation Of The Dog Standards. He was the only Belgian import to be used in this country during the formative years of the breed here. He was used only two or three times.
Mated to Ch Katie de Fauve Charbonne at the age of twelve, Bill produced another BAR winner, Ch Joker of Georjune, the foundation stud of June Betsworth's Georjune Rancho in California. Joker acquired 58 BOB's in competition in this country as well as being the first Tervueren to win the group on this continent. He had two Group 1's in Canada in 1967 when he was top winning Belgian Sheepdog in that country. A Joker brother, Ch Javelin of Georjune, UD, became the first champion in the US to earn the UD title. Bill, therefore, had a pronounced impact on the breed in spite of limited use.

Born in 1952, Nd. CH Brigadier de la Brigade was brought to the US by Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Peters. Bill proved to be an influential stud dog and was used as the model in the book "Visualizations of the Standards of Purebred Dogs in the US". (ABTC)
