Pavlof de la Baraque de Planches

Phidias du Clos Saint-Jacques was a homozygote fawn, per Dr, Yves Surget. What that means is that Phidias could not, no matter how hard he might try, sire anything other than fawn Tervs if bred to a Terv of any shade.
Xitan de la Pouroffe and littermates could then not have been sired by Phidias du Clos Saint-Jacques.
Jean Beaudoux's (l'Infernal kennel in Belgium) son, Robert, owned Xitan de la Pouroffe, a Groenendael sired by "Phidias" supposedly. Eventually Robert Beaudoux found out that the actual sire of this "X" de la Pouroffe litter was Pavlof de la Baraque de Planches, and not Phidias.
Sally Perry owned the correspondence, from Dr. Surget, on this false pedigree. Dr. Surget was quite happy that Pavlof was of good quality. Aparently Robert Beaudoux, an FCI judge, was
quite happy to have found out the real pedigree. Phidias was redeemed, so Mme Muller and the rest of France were happy too.
