The kennel Charlemagne of Mr. H. Brictaux of Liege, has acquired the famous stud dog Sam from Mr. F. Martens of Brussels.

The Laethem kennel, Van Houtte, aquired Ch. Sam (NHSB 1488), who has won 22 first prizes, and prizes of honor, previously owned by Mr. Bricteux.

Mr. Van Houtte of Lathem St-Martin sold to Mr Giron of Boenendael, the Groenendael Sam (NHSB 1488), 18 first prizes and prizes of honor.

Color described as black with some brown and grey guard hairs mixed with the black guard hairs on his rump.

1898 Sam NHSB 1488 received his championship

Berger Belge of this time period were not accepted by LOSH, therefore he was not registered with LOSH. The Societe Royale Saint-Hubert did not accept any Belgians until 1901. Sam was apparently registered in Holland before 1901.

The female Berger Belge of Dr. Byl of Saventhem was bred on January 24th to Tom, a Berger Belge of grey brindle belonging to Mr. Hettema of Bruxelles. Both are long haired.

Cartouche of Dr. Jean Byl of Saventhem had a litter October 17, 1898 of 8 puppies (3 males) by her son Sam (NHSB 1488).

Topsy, Groenendael of Mr. Roussel of Binche had a litter the 9th of February, 1902 of 3 males, 4 females by Sam (NHSB 1488), the two having numerous prizes of honor.
