I don't have any adult pictures of Bella, up in Washington State, but her owner Angie sent me a lovely email today letting me know how much they appreciate her and I'm hopeful I will have photos at some point.
One afternoon last fall she continually and insistently growled and barked furiously at the woods behind their house to the point that there was no settling her down, so they finally brought her in the house along with their two small children. About an hour later her husband investigated the woods and found the body of a neighbor's dog 100 feet from the house and directly where she had been staring. There had been mountain lion sightings on their street, and the deceased dog appeared to have been killed by the mountain lion.
The family is so certain Bella protected the children against the mountain lion that the new rule is kids can't go outside to play without bringing Bella along!
