Yes, we did import other dogs. Some were never used, as they were not up to par or had a Tervuren somewhere in three generations. Every dog's pedigree and lineage was researched, as we only breed the black dogs - black for at least three generations. In all these years, our bitches have never produced a brown dog. I do not believe this is by chance, but because we have been careful in selecting what we bred. There was controversy about one of our bitches (Sally de la Douce Plaine). We researched her pedigree for six years, and never found any Terv for three generations. We almost waited too long to breed her. She only had two pups for us - all black. Sally came from France. We still have her daughter who is now twelve and one-half years old. She produced just one litter for us.
