This year we dedicate our advert to
Champion Bergerac Sweet Talk
Top Brood Bitch 1992, 1994, 1996 (Dog World)
Runner-up Top Brood Bitch (All Breeds) in the UK and
Top Brood Bitch Working Group 1996 (Dog World)
We think her record speaks for itself!
A Record Breaking 80 CC's including 11 British Champions between her children & grandchildren.
It is no fluke that Dash produces such quality so consistently, she is bred to do just that. Her pedigree contains some of the breeds most distinguished and influential dogs and bitches, each one a star in their own right. We feel the two whose influence has been the strongest are:
Fanfare of the Two to whom she and 6 of her champion children are heavily line bred.
Dancing Dolly of the Two from whom she inherited her classic head and expression.
Bergerac Love Kills the sire of 11 Champions/La-Mouche of Questenberg at Bergerac Top Brood 1990/Ch Norrevang Bacchus of Belamba sire of the all-time breed record holder/Ch Showbourn Dominique at Bergerac from the famous Champion D litter/Fanfare of the Two at Niavana sire of 7 Champions/Dancing Dolly of the Two
I would like to give my heartfelt thanks to Ken & Cathy Croad
for my priceless gift*****DASH
(Linda Collins, Domburg) 1997 YB p104-105
'Dash' came to live with me at 8 weeks old and never ceased to astound me with her winning ways and character. She was a gift from Cathy and Ken Croad for recognition of my handling a number of the dogs they owned. Needless to say she was special right from the start.
The first show Dash attended was Darlington Ch Show at 8 months old, where she was Best Puppy in Breed under Ann O'Shea. This was followed by the BSDA Ch Show under Madame Wodak van Deijl, where she won the Reserve CC and was Best Puppy in Show. Her next show was Working Breeds of Scotland Ch Show where she was Best Puppy in Breed under Vic Salt, and went on to Best Puppy in Show under the late Bobby James.
Dash attended only three Club Open Shows in her career. The first was under Marcelle King where, just out of puppy, she won BOB Tervueren and was then jointly judged Best in Show by Marcelle and Janet Biddlecombe. She followed this up with Best in Show under Caroline Harvey and Best in Show under Sue Young.
In total Dash won 27 First Prizes at Championship Shows in Puppy and Junior, and was only beaten once. She was very selectively shown and won a total of 7 CCs and 4 Reserve CCs, and obviously gained her Junior Warrant with ease!
Without detracting from any of the judges who gave her CCs or Reserve CCs, there are two shows that were very special for me. The first was WKC under Marcelle King, where Dash did the double with her sire, "James". The second was under Jenny Eaves, where she was Best of Breed with her son, "Dane", who gained his first CC on the day.
As if she hadn't given me enough with her show career she then went on to prove herself as an outstanding brood bitch!
Dash had three litters, and from them produced ten Champions! Her first was sired by Niavana On Fire producing five Champions; her second by Ch Bergerac Blue Knight produced Ch Domburg Dressed to Impress at Talamo (Top Dog 1998 Dog World) and her third and final litter, by Ch Opium van de Hoge Laer at Corsini, has to date produced four Champions.
Dash was Top Brood Bitch in Breed 1992, 1994, 1996, 1997 & 1998 (Dog World; Top Brood Bitch in the Working Group 1996 & 1997 (Dog World) and Runner-Up Top Brood Bitch (All Breeds) 1996 & 1997 (Dog World). Her record speaks for itself!
The 'type' that Dash produces comes through very strongly in all her children and grandchildren, and is even starting to make an impression in the Groenendael with her first black Champion grandchild, Ch Lebeau Tender Kiss!
Dash was such a wonderful mother with her sweet and gentle character and she adored her puppies. She was also marvellous with children, having been brought up with my own daughter and her visiting cousins. She was simply a delight to own!
When Dash was five months old I was told by a well-known breeder to re-home her as she would never make the grade!
Dash is totally irreplaceable, but at least I have the consolation that she lives on through her progeny and will never be forgotten. (Linda Collins) 1999 YB p24-25
