First dog of any breed to win BIS from the Herding Group!

Owner's comments: "Treader" possesses all the obvious pluses of an outstanding show dog: scissor bite, driving, balanced single-tracking gait, full coat with blackening and good angulation. In addition, he has the qualities that make him an outstanding companion; extraordinary temperament, happy personality and gentlemanly demeanor. First show - first 4 point major from the Open class at 8 months old. Eleven shows later a Champion. At two years old a BIS and still amassing an impressive group placement record. He is an active participant in Pet-A-Pet programs at convalescent centers as well as being a demonstrator for the Pet Care programs in elementary schools. When time permits he tracks and has received his certification waiting for a trial to get his TD. Treader is also working towards his CDX title. His progeny appear to be "chips off the old block". Treader is always my happiness!

Champ's daughter Bea was bred to BIS winner AKC Ch Hi Times Kanook O'Crocs Blanc CD BAR and produced the outstanding Kalyn's Zazarac de Bonheur BAR. 'Moxie' was the foundation for Bonheur's second wave. She earned 12 points, including two five point majors before accidents and puppies curtailed her career.
Moxie was bred four times, producing only 15 puppies. Her first two litters were by AKC Ch Kalyn's Whiskey Sour UDT (a Champ son) and produced the 'well-rounded', group placing AKC Ch Bonheur's Perin de Kalyn UDT. Two of the most successful Bonheur litters were Moxie's by AKC Ch Elysee de Mont-Cenis (Gina - AKC Ch Regina's Echo de Bonheur's grandson). There were five puppies in all, including AKC/CKC Ch Bonheur Ruarri MacTire HIC, AKC Ch Bonheur Star Treader CDX TD and AKC Ch Bonheur Spellbinder CD HIC (Magic).
The first dog of any breed to win BIS from the Herding Group, 'Treader' went on to earn three all-breed Best in Show awards and several National Specialty Selects. Like his mother, Treader proved that quality always surpasses quantity. He sired only six litters, one of which was the Bonheur 'W' litter. Treader is the sire of the 1990 ABTC National Specialty Winners dog and 1991 National Specialty Select, AKC Ch Beauxchien Top Priority CD, as well as other group winning and "well-rounded" Ch-UDT Tervuren.
We are all immensely proud of the accomplishments of the 'W' litter. To accomplish this breeding, we leased a bitch. She was Zahara Khasmin de Loup Noir, a daughter of AKC Ch Dali de la Pouroffe and AKC Ch Sandyhills Bardot de Loup Noir. This was not our first foray into 'European' bloodlines, but it was our most successful. The star was my sister Carrole's AKC Ch Bonheur Wildest Dream. 'Djinn' won her class at the 1989 National Specialty Sweepstakes and placed fourth in heavy competition in the Bred-by Exhibitor class at the 1990 National Specialty. In 1991, Djinn achieved a rare milestone for a bitch. She went Best of Breed at the Westminster Kennel Club show, America's most prestigious dog show event. Also a luminary, AKC Ch Bonheur World Shaker UD earned his CD with a perfect 200 score and his CDX with another high in trial.
